All This For A Hat

I gained these last 2 levels just to build a mahogany treasure chest for my dark cavalier hat. XD I may power-build to 80, but that’ll be much later when I have better cash reserves. There’s not much left that I really want in my PoH; only the high-end marble things to replace cheap or middling things (like limestone fireplaces and a teak staircase).

I sold something on GE today, but I can’t remember what it was! Lol! I also had a talk about economics with Empath because I don’t understand why some people are bitching/whining with the GE. It does have many bugs to be fixed, such as this queue system which resets when you take an item out to change the price to what’s currently within range.

Oh, my latest long-term goal is 85 smithing. I did some refiguring last night with Empath’s help (he got math certificates in school). Since I plan on smelting all the steel bars, then smithing them into steel plate mails, I’ll gain 275 xp per plate mail made. And that twigs what I sold today: 20k iron ore. I took a small loss, but it eased my mind to know I only need 36k iron and 72k coal for my goal. I’ll be getting coal from Miscellania and mining it. I haven’t tried coal trucks, so I’ll do that tomorrow. Anyway, I’ll most likely be in Edgeville for a long time.

A Buyer’s Market

Yes, this is an actual entry with lots of words and at least *2* pictures! Surprised

About the GE (Grand Exchange): it’s a buyer’s dream atm. I’ve only sold a few items in 2 days, which is tons better than before the update. I sold 9/11 rune scimitars, 845 red chinchompas, 1300+ rune arrows and an obby cape. The chins were the fastest sellers, gone in 60 seconds literally. I did have prayer pots, purple sweets, a couple rune items and teak logs for sale since yesterday, but I took them down in favor of the TT items and obby cape/shield I’ve clung onto for no reason.

One of the ideas roaming around is that the GE is on a queue system. Like, seller A with 1k p ess will be second after other sellers with more than 1k p ess to sell; that’s my thought anyway. It might explain why I can’t move 1k (4) prayer pots at 8800 gp each. So, if your stuff isn’t selling as fast as you thought it would, be patient because you aren’t alone. From what I’ve heard on forums, blogs and in RS, people are overloading the market with certain items, such as willow logs, rune boots and that which makes it harder to sell things. More items means the prices are dropping - remember to check your selling price each day!

I can’t handle money *and* have the opportunity to buy stuff. The only reason I had 15M before GE is because I’m too cheap and impatient to attempt haggling with another player. Now, I can buy anything (if I have the money) whenever I want! Yes, there is a reason behind my crazy buy of 54k iron ore yesterday. If I can get 108k coal, I can smelt and smith steel bars into steel plate mail for 85 smithing. Tongue out I remember wanting 2 Zammy pages to complete my god book and having to go to W2. Now at the time, Zammy pages were 100k each. I found someone with the 2 pages I needed and he/she/it doubled the price! It pissed me off! <— That’s why I’m happy about the prices dropping.

I bought oak logs today to flesh out my construction. Since I use Plank Make, oak planks only cost 175 gp each with the spell, so even buying the logs at 30 gp each, I’m still saving money over using the sawmill. Now I have the 4,088 oak planks to get 78 construction. Oh and I have another calquat tree growing, so I did my plank making in Zanaris in case the tree went sick. One of the random events is that you change into a chicken or pig. This happened while I was casting the spell, so my chicken and pig self was doing the animation, too. Cool

I’d gotten 169 dust devils for slayer yesterday, but it was evening and kids were playing. I completed it today (smokey well was empty). Nothing interesting for drops.

I Went A Little …Crazy

The only exciting thing: I bought 54k iron ore on the Exchange. So sad that that’s all that happened today.

In Everyday Blah-Blahshire

Oh boy: The Grand Exchange!

I managed to get 3 things up for sale - 100 anti fire pots, 1k cooked sharks and 27 willow logs - before it glitched out. Hopefully whatever is wrong will get fixed AND I’ll have sold something tomorrow. Tongue outMoney mouth

There’s a locked trapdoor by the gnome tunnel shortcut near the north bridge to Edgeville. Christmas update?

I haven’t been doing much because nothing’s caught my attention. I tried woodcutting yesterday, which was a total mistake. Everyone and their cat were haunting the woodcutting spots. I did get some times down and oaks are the fastest to chop - 1 min 30 sec for 28 vs. 2 min for 28 willows.

So I’m on Moonclan island making oaks planks with lunar magic. Then I’ll work on getting 78 construction.

EDIT: I made a collosal mistake tonight. I created 2,044 oak planks so I could  gain 78 construction. My math got screwy; it’s 2,044 armor stands to 78 which is 4,088 oak planks. Embarassed

A Bit of Cleaning

1940 total level now. Cool

I did a bit of random bank cleaning while waiting for my last calquat tree to grow. I turned 156 sardines in to 400 spider eggs. While I was doing that, my nature ammy told me the calquat was diseased (oh no!), so I ran from Brimhaven to Tai Bwo and pruned it back in time.

I’m getting in the mood for another 99 skill. Woodcutting may be it.

Bored Now

It’s been a pretty boring day of runecrafting astrals and nats.

I checked the differences between Dorgesh-kaan and Ape Atoll course. I can run the goblin course in 3 minutes, walk in 4 minutes. Ape Atoll can be run in 1 minute, walked in 2 minutes. So it seems that Ape Atoll is the way to go, especially considering I won’t fail any of the obstacles. But when I crunched the numbers, Dorgesh-kaan wins in the long run. To get my goal of 81 agility, Dorgesh-kaan will take 13.66666~ hours while Ape Atoll will take 16.2 hours. Even taking into account any falls (and thusly starting over), the goblin course will still take less time to gain those levels.

I should have something interesting to post tomorrow.

Of or Relating to Practical or Everyday Concerns or Activities

I am still laughing my ass off over finding out my Life isn’t Real. XD See here for more details. It kills me to read that again, honestly; I fell out of my chair laughing at it.

Anyways, to the not-Real part of my Life:

I have to thank W46AAA once again for this level. It took me over 4 hours, but I only got sleepy during the last 40 course runs. The reason I didn’t get the level at Ape Atoll is that I had 30xp to go and another go around made me weep. Did you know the rock climb at Al Kharid mining chasm and Lumbridge fence jump give 0xp? The crumbling wall at Falador give .5xp!

Level 79 agility: 293 Ape Atoll or 62 Dorgesh-kaan non-grapple
Level 80 agility: 616 Ape Atoll or 130 Dorgesh-kaan non-grapple
Level 81 agility: 972 Ape Atoll or 205 Dorgesh-kaan non-grapple

I’m only training for the Taverly dungeon (by poison spiders/hellhounds) and Fremmy slayer cave shortcuts. Oh and I think Dorgesh-kaan is faster XP-wise even though it takes longer to get to and from the power station. Barring falls, it takes 4 minutes to walk the Dorgesh-kaan course and 1 minute to run the Ape Atoll course. So in the 4 minutes for 2750 xp at Dorgesh-kaan, that’s 2320 xp at Ape Atoll. I really should run the Dorgesh-kaan course and note the time. Ape Atoll is better for 2 reasons: W46AAA for people to talk to and I don’t fail anymore.

My calquat tree grew nicely for the second time. Cross your fingers that the other 2 grow just the same. My spirit tree should be grown by tomorrow too.

While I was mining essence in Yanille, people were dropping items on the bank floor. Being the scavenger that I am, I take a look at what’s been dropped because you never know when it’s something you need. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, or so the saying goes. I picked up a couple purple Canifis mage robes, some bird snares, a piece of seaweed and 44 grimy snapdragon!!! Hee hee, lucky me got more herblore experience for free. Wink

FYI, blog.com locked up my computer for the third time this week. When it does this, even a hard reboot doesn’t always fix  the problem. Don’t be surprised if I move blog addresses again. lol

Patience

I achieved 77 agility today, thanks to W46AAA. The pic is being a pain uploading onto blog.com though. Thank god for Photobucket!

Later, I crafting a couple thousand cosmic runes. Friday calls for more runecrafting - astrals. I grew 1 of my calquats today and will keep a close eye on the others I farm. A bit of a slow RS day due to grocery shopping.

EDIT: I just noticed the time stamp on this post says 12.14a when I posted half an hour earlier! WTF? I’m going to see if I can fix it. - Fixed the time now.

I Good Wit Chucky Stabber

Free advertising: World 46 Ape Atoll Agility event - Quick Code Find: 42-43-424-51019711 on RS official forums.

I popped in around 2p my time and there were tons of monkeys running around. I’ve read most of the thread  - the rules bit anyway - so I sorta knew what to do/not do. I stayed for about 2 and 1/2 hours and got myself to 70k to 77 agility. I did leave to check my calquat tree, then returned with a load of stolen cakes from Ardy. Tongue out

I spent the evening hunting chompies, even though I had said I wouldn’t range for a while. I wanted the next hatsies because it’s black and goes nicely with my current outfit.

I got very lucky with my nests from yesterday. I’d gotten at least 1 of every tree and fruit tree seed plus 4 calquat seeds! Hopefully these will last me until the next time I empty the kingdom’s coffers (end of Nov). I’m babying my calquat after the last one died from disease - my first iirc.

Enough of That

I would like to thank Milla for letting me throw sharp, pointy knives at her. Lol. I used up both crystal bows and a couple hundred steel arrows at black demons before trying out iron knives. I got so lucky due to the duel arena update today; experiments were empty so I could level quickly and in relative peace.

I have 43 nests to sort through later and I should get back to stealing seeds for farming. Sometimes I wish I wasn’t so picky; I only want certain seeds and get a bit fed up with all these “crappy” (imo) seeds. I’ve got Miscellania working 100% maples, 50% teak. No idea what to do with all these logs, but they can be fletched into bow shafts and crossbow limbs and I’ve gotten more into mahogany for construction.
