The Money Pit

On December 30, 2007, my house is declared a handy fixer-upper. No more throwing good money after bad anymore. I have all the construction levels I want and all that's left is to replace certain items with marble.

Unlike Merch, construction is one of my least favorite skills (agility being the other). I'm declaring myself done with it. I looked over what was left to do and found a really short list of items I want to replace with marble. It all gets to wait until I get 5.85M which is currently tied up in yew logs.

- the basic portal room (Lumby, Varrock and Fally): 3 portals + scrying pool =13 marble blocks
- marble fireplaces (bedroom, parlor, dining room): 3 marble blocks
- 2 small fountains in my formal gardens = 2 marble blocks
- mahogany toy chest to match other mahogany items = 2 mahogany planks

I bought what I think is the last of the yew logs needed for 99 fletching. I'm leaning towards reselling the strung bows on the GE instead of hi alching them. Alching would be better (mage, rc, mining XP, stable 768gp per bow) but I don't have the fire to make 55k nature runes. I do want to get my runecrafting up to 80, but I'll be using the ZMI altar for that since I just want the XP. I get magic XP in other ways so it's not a total loss. I leveled up to 92 tonight just to have an even starting point for figuring. I've got to pick and spin a little over 9k flax for the next level. Well, it's better than running planks or agility course! XD

There May Be Pictures

As promised, I gained 2 levels today: 89 farming and 91 fletching. I do have screenies, but the photo upload is taking its sweet time (still "loading" as I type). I've been chain farming and fletching most of today. I finally sold those 25 addy square shields yesterday that I've had on the GE since it opened. After I posted last night, I logged back on to RS to find I'd bought 30k yew logs after 2 days waiting. So that's most of my levels to 99 fletching and most of my ready cash, too. Wink My plan is to fletch and string yew longbows until the 30k are completed, then sell them on the GE (the current price is comparible with hi alching) and buy more yew logs. Miscellania is getting most of my flax since I've had little time to pick any myself.

EDIT: After 20 minutes...

I Can't Handle Money

I have money that I want to spend, but no one is selling what I'm buying at the price I'm offering. I've tried buying magic and yew logs the past couple of days. I'm considering pure essence even with the high price. Mostly, I'm working out what I want to get done next year. Sorry the posts are short and not interesting. I do have 6 skills close to leveling up.

I have been enchanting air orbs tonight. 2 revenants appeared at the obelisk - vampire and goblin, both much lower levels than me - but neither attacked. They popped in, circled me and went down the ladder. Very weird.

z0mg!!1!!1

I only wanted to find out who was wearing the bunny ears. It was Uloveme and she wasn't around for long.

I've been farming my trees and toadflax. For the passed 2 days, I ran logs to the sawmill for planks. I have enough for 80 construction. Also, I had a handful of people following me. I don't know if they wanted anything or were just using me as a taxi. I fletched the last of my maple logs today.

My Xmas was shitty.

A Long Walk

I love getting action shots like this: mid swing with sparkles. I have enough oak logs for 80 construction and I'm done with it. There's nothing beyond level 86 (tea + crystal saw) that I want and don't have.

I'm seriously considering making a go for 99 woodcutting and fletching. I'm going to do some testing this week on how bad the crowds are around magic trees. I've got my kingdom picking flax and cutting maples to help out. I've done math for buying the logs; yews would be better than magics, but still pricey. I certainly don't have enough cash on hand atm to buy all the yew logs I need for 99 fletching. Besides, these 2 skills go hand-in-hand, like fishing and cooking. And the possiblity of getting eggs for summoning is a hook, too.

Scrambled

I am not excited about summoning. I'm 'meh'; as I was with hunter. Summoning may get me excited after it's out and I wait for the bruhaha to die. I read a comment on Timothy Gold's shoutbox about vulture eggs. Well, I decided to check it out for myself. After 2 world hops, I found the 3 vultures northish of the agility pyramid and Icthlarin's Little Helper quest start to myself. About 10 minutes into killing them, I got this:

I gained 10 eggs in around 40 minutes before a small gang of not-my-friends showed up and I left. I've also seen a raven's egg posted on Sal's by Ace of Spades. I'm going to give woodcutting another go this coming week. I just need to pick a type of tree, though they will all have crowds - oak for planks, willows or maples for power leveling, yews for fletching or magics for fletching or selling. I do get more nests doing oaks, so maybe that applies to eggs also. Another factor is how bad the crowds are; most school kids are out for holiday break.

I am now able to mix nightshade and poison ivy berries into a vial of coconut milk without using Greenman's ale!

Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?

I took the day off from chain farming to catch up on a few little things. I crafted 1347 molten glass, gathered over 200 snape grass and Mort Myre fungi, picked way too many bananas, and crafted my little heart out.

I was 29k to leveling herblore and crafting. Since crafting is cheaper, I made a push for that (with prodding from my cat, Slash). Slash has been bugging me to get him a girlfriend for over a year now. With the disappointment of never having another wily feline to keep him company, he took the geek route and demanded I build him a robot cat instead. I told him RS was not gaining robotics any time soon, but a clockwork cat is possible. He started cracking the whip - erm, mouse toy.

I got the level, made the fake cat and stuck her in the bank. I averted my eyes because hearing Slash call his new "girlfriend", Super Miss Kittyfantastica, gave me the urge to vomit. Yes, my cat is very creepy (not to mention Evil).

Tomorrow: more farming and more potion making! I sold the 447 limpwurt roots in a few minutes and the Sara brews made from the toadflax in record time. Thank the gods people use Saras for fight caves. Tongue out I loaded my bracelets onto the GE, too. They're unenchanted and sell for more than hi alching. Hopefully someone will buy them.

Time Well Wasted

Anyway, I used up all my maple logs. What will I do for 20 minutes while the limpwurts grow?

Lost Another Loan To DiTech!

Bye Tazlike. You will be missed.

I took a chance on chain farming today. So far, 9 limpwurt plants died but the herbs are okay (knock on wood). It's given me a chance to fletch maple logs. I may make 90 tomorrow. I want to go on Lunar magic, but I need Trollheim tele for My Arm's herb patch.

It's boring, but I should have a couple levels up in the near future.

Apparently there's a pet shop in Yanille.

2 Things

Up front, I want to get 2 rants out of my brain.

1. GE has ruined money making! No, it hasn't. Honestly, try using those things in the game called "skills" and stop bitching. Teacuptime and Merch and several others need to get off their high horses. OMG I can't make money from nats/monkfish/fletching/blahblahblahbbityblah! I am surprised that Merch is acting this way. Look at her skills; she's got a rounded character and it should be no problem for her to mine/woodcut/fish/etc. on her own. You still make money with nats/fish/logs/whatever, just not as much because the prices are becoming - gasp - reasonable. Do you know why I have high skills? Because I couldn't see the point of buying items when, with a little training, I can make for free.

These whining, bitching and moaning complaints are driving me away from favored blogs and RS fansites.

2. Snowman thieves. I had 4 snowmen stolen from me during the Christmas event today before I gave up. I had the emote and gift, so having fun with snowman wars and snowball fights would be plain stupid. I would build them up to the point where I could put a hat on them and some lazy SOB would top *my* snowman with *their* hat! It's not as thought the snow wasn't available for them.
