May I Have Another?

The reason for this move:

I can't see posts made before January 2008. I can edit them all I want, but I can't just browse through the archives. I don't know if it's just me or not. I wanted to link back to a post in December and couldn't access it except by editing and that's not what I wanted. I do recall saying I would leave blog.com if anything else fucked up.

If you're pretty pissed about my fourth move, you're justified and I don't blame you for calling me a bitch and deleting me from your daily/weekly blog reading list.

I'm back on Blogger with a new Gmail address separate from my normal, everyday Gmail address. Here's the link:

Again, my apologies for this.

Time Well Wasted

All farming. All day.

After watching every limpwurt root I grew become diseased, I cured what I could and sold the seeds on GE. 945k for over 2800 seeds! Way more than what I initially paid. With the herbs growing, I made potions and gathered seconds for something to do. The Catherby beach became a spamhole today.

While hanging out at the GE selling potions and seeds, I thought this would be a good time to upgrade my headstone to the angel of death. I fairy ring'ed over to Keldagrim and paid the sculptor 500k. Now, like every n00b who gets a new headstone, I had to try it out in a relatively safe place other than a bank but had monsters tough enough to kill me. I first thought of roaming the Wilderness for revenants, but I knew I would die 5:01 minutes from Camelot, my spawn point. And I knew the stone wouldn't appear unless I had actually lost something, so it was time to 4 item it with replaceable things.

I grabbed a dramen staff, Varrock armor, boots of lightness and a chef's hat. Checking the "items lost on death" screen, I'd lose the Varrock armor which I can get again from Vannakka (after a stern talking to). Okay, where to die. My first choice was just outside Edgeville by the jail where the skeletons are, but skeletons weren't going to damage me down to nothing from 87 hitpoints.

I needed something to weaken me enough for a skeleton to be a deadly adversary. Of course: grab the Zammy wine! I walked over there and picked up the skulls north of the mind altar along the way. When I arrived, no one was tele grabbing the wine, so I felt comfortable to take it with my hands. We all know that taking the wine bare handed results in the god cast Flames of Zamorak on you and the monks to attack. Happy, I grabbed the wine.

Nothing happened other than I had the wine in my pack.

WTF? Surprised

So, I grabbed the wine again.

Nothing.

Ready to take a screenie for proof, I grabbed the wine a third time:

Yes, you can now just take the wine without any hassle from Zamorak nor his monks.

That idea was scotched. What else in Gielinor would a) kill me outright, but in a place I can return to and get my stuff or b) damage me enough to die within 5 minutes of Camelot? Firstly, I thought of nightshade which kills when you eat it. I didn't want to be lame and waste a nightshade. Secondly, I remembered the ogre shaman in Gu'Tanoth and they only damage 20 each shot. Ogre shaman are a-go! I tele'd to my house, then ran to the Gu'Tanoth dungeon and repeatedly asked a shaman what sort of shampoo he uses. After getting my ass whollaped down to 7 health, I home tele'd to Lumbridge, banked for a Camelot tele and ran through the maple woods by the Sinclair mansion. Just north of the fairy ring is a level 64 wolf, who should be able to bitch slap to death.

I died, respawned and hurried back to check out my grave marker. It's so pretty, just like the sculptor said it would.

After than adventure, I decided to sell off the rest of my cooked sharks in favor of tuna taters. Surprisingly, the sharks sold quickly. I put up a buy order for raw tuna, potatos and butter pats. Yes, it's lazy, but the fact that I *can* buy things is so nice. The tuna came in quickly and the potatos are trickling in slowly. I think I'll have to get the butter pats from the Culinomancer's chest, if there's any in stock.

Something I keep forgetting to mention - my second floor is back. I've gotten some upgrades to my computer, including a new monitor. I was playing RS on high detail last week and tele'd to my house for getting sand from Bert. When I entered to use the Camelot portal, I noticed I had a second floor roof blocking my camera. Investigating this later, I returned and tried to go up the stairs in my downstairs skill hall. I couldn't go up and received the same message I'd gotten when I replaced the stairs months ago. Then I had an idea. I had teak logs banked from slayer and mining limestone is no big thing. I went to Varrock, traded the logs for planks, mined the limestone, carved it into bricks and tele'd home again. From the workshop, I got a hammer and saw and clicked on the stairs.

"There are no stairs to the next room. Would you like to build some stairs that go up?" the invisible constrution god asked.

"You bet your sweet ass I do," I growled, then muttered, "So what the hell are these things right here?"

I agreed and the scene shifted to Home Sweet Home image with that chipper music. The stairs were the same as I'd left them. Hesistantly, I clicked on them and went up to the second floor I thought I'd lost.

Call Me A Hoe

I needed the farming I did today. I had so many seeds stockpiled and so few harvests. I made a big decision today concerning my farming XP - no more apple trees. I could sense the guilt trip the tiny seeds gave off in my direction, but I was firm and put them up for sale next to the acorns.

Oh

Congratulations Merch Gwyar
on your sparkly quest cape!

Orbs

My farming patches are fucked up. They aren't on the same schedule anymore, due to my own fault. Why did I plant those fruit trees last night? Now, 2 are fully grown morning-ish and the other 2 are night-ish.

I enchanted all my glass orbs for making air battlestaves. I only ran into 1 revenant, a hobgoblin, which didn't bother me. The new Edgeville dungeon is nice, but who keeps the torches lit?

After the orbs, I decided to work more slayer. My attention span said NO. I still have 80 dagannoths to kill. My mind just wasn't into it like the past couple of days. I don't understand how people can be slayers day in and day out. I did work out how many jade vines I would need to kill and I wouldn't be able to get 80 slayer this year. I checked on it today and the damn thing was dead again. What am i paying Horcio to do? I'm only interested in slayer for the charms.

I figured it's time to work on one of the other goals for this year. I'm farming herbs now seeing as I've bought/collected over 8k. I've got a lot of other seeds, too, which I keep for gardener payments.

I think I need to do some non-combat skilling and think about where I want to go. Woodcutting is the other great skill for doing heavy thinking (the other is fishing).

RuneScape Mysteries

Those levels aside, I have mysteries to solve.

The trap door at the GE:
- originally thought to be part of the Christmas 2007 event
- possible summoning start
- current idea: a summoning mini game because I keep hearing birds in that corner

The bones in the kalaphite lair:
- not the obvious humanoid skeletons, but the ones which say, "Remains of a kalaphite"
- when using Keris, the special effect of this dagger says, "You slip through the creature's chitin, landing a viscious blow"
- chitin is basically the exoskeleton of invertebrates (beetles, ants, snails, lobsters, etc)
- how can a kalaphite have both an exo and endo skeleton? (chitin vs. bones)

The 2 men trapped on a large pillar in the Dorgeshuun agility cave:
- originally thought to be part of the continuing series of quests featuring Dorgeshuun/Zanik
- not part of Another Slice of H.A.M. nor Land of the Goblins
- a mage who is searching for something along with his henchman
- the pair are located on the grapple route of the agility course

Graham Is Good

The battlestaves are paying off in ways other than monetary.

I've continued with slayer today and found something new about Chaedlar. She's on the kick of warped tortoises now that I'm overcoming my reticence of metal dragons and kurask. I tell her to stop giving me stupid assignments, but she never listens.

Tears of Guthix, genie lamps and exam books can now be used on summoning. Damn, and I was looking forward to one more day of free hunter XP.

Nobody's Watching Me

No pages views in the past week. I love it. Lol

I got the new music emote. If the KB is up-to-date, there are 519 songs available of which I have 508. Firstly, I thought just having 500+ songs unlocked would give me the new emote, but no, not even walking around places to change the music. I took a quick boat trip to Karamja and wandered north of Tai Bwo Wannai to get the new Jungle Community tune and that got me:

While I did slayer today, I noticed twice I got a red message in my chat window, telling me I'd unlocked a new music track: . . Yes, that first period is the "new music". Also, while killing gargoyles in Canifis and greater demons in Gu'Tanoth, the music wasn't just the tune for that single area but included the areas around it - all the music associated with Canifis and Yanille/Gu'Tanoth. Very strange. I do like the updates to the music and the hints you get by right clicking on the tune (you can do this while walking and you won't stop Wink).

Slayer was my skill for the day. I only got 1 assignment from Chaedlar that I changed - 144 spiritual warriors for 22 banshees. When I change tasks, it makes me think of how whimpy I am. Plenty of people close or below my combat level daily fight metal dragons, abberant spectres, spiritual warriors/rangers/mages, kurasks. I know why I don't take anything related to God Wars - it's not exactly a brisk walk, and everything there wants you dead (re: too much shit on my plate). Metal dragons, I am merely avoiding the wild dogs. Funnily enough, these monsters are what give "good" drops (dragon items, draconic visages, etc.). I'm seriously thinking I bit off more than I can chew with a goal of 80 slayer. Right now, I'm thinking of slugging through the training, then just packing it away on the shelf next to agility and construction.

I'm working on strength (my lowest ranked skill) and attack (second lowest). It all comes with slayer.

I Tasted Baby Pink Lipstick

Check 80 prayer off the goal list. I only buried 3 dragon bones accidentally. Laughing

I logged onto World 132, the fletching/alching world in Yanille. I pulled my yew longbows off the GE in the hopes that I might sell some to alchers while running bones from the bank. Rarely did I see anyone buying full bows; supplies or bowstrings, until I ran in under Gamy calling out, "Buying 45k yew longs". Well, I had over 44k from fletching. I grabbed the noted bows and hurried to where Gamy stood. I told him I had 44k bows and he said he had 60M. I can laugh now because I'm sure I sounded like a total doorknob. I offered a trade - 44k+ for 25M. Accepted on both sides and I now have money again.

After finishing 80 prayer, I tried doing hunter. Red chins were packed as usually, so I popped up to Piscatoris for bashing kebbits with large boulders. Someone was there, but using other rocks. I began trapping and we had the typical conversation. As I dragged a smooshed kebbit from under a rock, the other person set up their trap which forced me to move elsewhere. I wish I'd jotted down his name for being such a prick. I used up the logs in my pack, then left the area.

With all that money, I bought 18 marble blocks and upgraded the rest of my house. Note about portal rooms - you can upgrade the center focus without losing your portals. If you're upgrading your portals, you don't have to recast the teleport spells. I went from teak portal frames to marble and the teleport places were the same.

I bought 80k pure essence which should get me to 82 runecrafting using ZMI. I don't feel bad about buying stuff now due to most of the autoers are gone.

All that's left for 80+ skills goal are slayer (76) and hunter (75). Hunter I will probably catch kebbits. Slayer, oh god. Therre's always the jade vine to kill (474 for level 80 iirc). I just get so sick and tired of Burthorping tasks.

Save It Til The Morning After

I accidentally deleted the pic for 77 prayer when cleaning out my RS picture folder. >.< Saturday was a great day for me in reguards to the GE. I found out dragon bones were 1959 gp each and couldn't pass up such a deal. Anything less than 2k each is a deal in my book. I bought 1k bones which used up most of my cash. I'd kept 500k aside for buying battlestaves and seaweed. I dug through my bank for things to sell, most of which got gobbled up quickly. I knew most of the potions I had would sell, so I put up prayer, super energy, Sara brews, anti firebreath and range pots, collecting the dragon bones as they trickled in in small amounts. The potions all sold in less than 3 minutes, so I took a chance and put up super antipoisons but they took about an hour to sell out.

Now I had half of the bones to get 80 prayer and more funds to spend. Encouraged, I put up 1k cooked sharks which went immediately. Next, I tossed out over 7k cooked monkfish and they sold immediately. This money was what I needed to get the rest of the bones. I decided to get started on gilding the bones at my PoH in Yanille, knowing I could collect the rest there. By the time the super antis sold, I had all the bones as well.

Today, I leveled to 77 and 78 and will have 80 tomorrow. Most of today was taken for cannibalizing computers of which I gained an LCD flatscreen monitor, a BFG graphics card, 1G RAM and a shiny keyboard. RS sure is small on a 20" screen. XD
