Connection Lost - Attempting to Reestablish

If you don't know yet, there have been 4 massive updates today on RS. I'll link them in order of contraversy:

The changes to the Wilderness are the biggest culprit for the bitching and moaning. So many threads on Sal's (and I'm sure other fansites) have been closed to cut down on the crap spewing forth. The Official Forums have been shutdown. What I've been able to sift out, people who like to kill other players in the Wilderness are pissed because 1) they are now restricted to one area and 2) player killing (PK) is now a mini game called Bounty Hunter.

The upside of the new Bounty Hunter game is the rest of the Wilderness is single combat. Skilling can actually be done without as much fear - mine runite, take on the KBD with your best items, Abyssal runecraft, run laps at the agility course! I did a few runs of nature rune crafting through the Abyss. I still prefer the fairy ring method. The balance of this new Wilderness is revanant ghosts, who can be very deadly because they use all forms of attack (melee, mage and range). I died to a revanant ork who cast tele block twice and 3 icy darts. I believe they hit through prayer, but I have no conclusive results.

This isn't the first time Jagex has altered the Wilderness or PKing. They took it from being everywhere in Gielinor except one area and reversed the situation (put it in one area instead of everywhere). It may come as a shock to certain players, but there are those out there in the gaming community, myself included, who feel PKing is a pointless activity (some people are more strenuous of this "dislike" more than others).

The drop and trading changes have hurt many people (though this update won't be activated until January 2008), but they aren't crying for blood like the babyish PKers. Merch Gwyar is upset that she has 20 days to repay friends for their loans (about 3M total) during her construction goal. Though knowing her friends, they considered the cash as well spent gifts. Kalipop PMed me about his 99 farming drop party being useless because of the item cash limit. It's understandable pissiness since players enjoy giving gifts and helping out new players with free items. I certainly have done this with friends; giving a 'vicar's discount' when I know they either don't have the money to pay or are in a frustrated hurry. Hand-in-hand with this portion of updates is Party Room Changes, which made it very difficult to host a party without getting crashers. As a note, market prices are dictated by the GE.

I can't see why anyone would bitch about the Duel Arena becoming available for F2P and having more bank space (8 for F2P, 32 for P2P).

That's enough of that for now. My day began nicely with my maple logs finally selling and giving me just over 3M. I'm crafting nats and working on gettting essence (mining and GE) to hi alch the 7,142 steel plates I have. It'll give me 8.7M when I'm done. I may splurge and buy something exotic and silly. XD While I was alching in Lumby basement, someone was commiting suicide in the Lumby caves. I watched as bugs nipped and nibbled until the person folded like a cheap card table and vanished. Said player returned shortly thereafter and did another suicide. This time, a wooden signpost appeared. I grabbed my mining helmet and tinderbox and squeezed through the cave entrance. I read the sign, which gave the name of the player, then decided to bless it.


I wonder where you go to get upgraded gravestones or if it depends on what you're carrying.
